You can find many helpful options in Settings that will help make your phone easier to use, especially if your eyesight isn’t what it used to be. Go to Settings > Display & Brightness > Text Size. All you have to do is drag the slider to increase the text size to a setting that works best for you.

Take it a step further with the VoiceOver feature and have content read out loud to you. This setting as well as Zoom and Magnifier Tools can be found under Settings > General > Accessibility.

Find yourself missing calls and texts? Change up the ringtones and volume settings to better alert you. You can do that by going to Settings > Sounds and choose from countless combinations for each notification. If you use hearing aids you can connect them to your iPhone if they’re compatible, which gives you even more options.

Android users, here’s what you need to know:

Similar to the iPhone, Android phones give you the ability to increase your phone’s font size. All you have to do is go to Settings > Display > Font Size. From there, you have the option to select small, normal, large or huge. Text size options may vary with depending on the specific model of your phone.

To adjust the volume and customize ringtones for your text messages and incoming calls, go to Settings > Sound. You’ll find a list of sound options where you will be able to select from different tones.

To make your phone overall easier to use, some Android phones like the Samsung Galaxy series, offer a simplified or Easy Mode. You can find it by clicking Settings / Personalization > Easy Mode and follow the instructions.
